Applied Behavior Analysis Changes Lives

Why do I say this? Because it happened. Over a year’s worth of work, putting in effort, and saying goodbye.

That’s what non-functional nancy told me during our last formal coaching meeting together.

You changed my life

You’ll meet her in my current talk, or if you take my course, on demand.

See, applied behavior analysis (ABA), changes lives. When applied with dignity, respect, candor for the unknown, and most importantly, heart, you observe amazing change.

Changes in behavior. Changes in data. Changes in goals. Changes in outcomes.

Nancy became someone else.

Nance was unsure, lacked confidence, and sought more from her training. She was sweet, intelligent, easy to talk to…rather still is all of those things….and knew that she wanted more from her overall health and well-being, but didn’t know where to turn.

That is, until the conglomeration that was the pandemic, BehaviorFit’s marketing efforts to date, and her willingness to enter her email address in my contact form.

The link is hopefully easy to find above.

Thankful for the pandemic.

I didn’t say that directly, but it was implied. As we wrapped up final 1:1 meeting, Nancy cried tears of joy and thankfulness.

See ABA changes people’s lives.

Nancy checked all of the boxes. She showed up on time. Every time. Met goals. Did not meet goals. Pivoted and more. She now has even more confidence – as established by clear skill development programs – than ever before.

Did I tell you that she ran a Spartan race? Those things are hard. Go check it out yourself.

She went from globe-gym novice to planning her SECOND Spartan Race.

Holy smokies.

See ABA changes people’s lives.

Did I just type that again? For Nancy? No, but for me.

Nancy checked the boxes, see I did it again. But as much as she learned and developed through the process, I grew as I coach. I learned even more, what to do, but more importantly, what not to do.

Nancy’s trust in me allowed me to gain in more experience to teach the next round of clients. She taught to me to continue being patient, respectful, and compassionate because we never know when we will have the opportunity to improve someone’s life.

At least that’s what I’m here for.

See ABA changes people’s lives. Most of the time we think about the consumer, the client receiving the coaching service. But ABA changes the life of the me, the coach, the behavior change agent.

Applied behavior analysis is such a powerful science, it actually works as a two-way street. When applied to any subject matter, the meaningful results come in the form of thankful tears at the end of a bittersweet journey.

See, Nancy doesn’t need me anymore. The data tell us so.

Is she prepared the unknown? With confidence, YES!

Is she ready to tackle the next 6 months of training? With confidence, YES!

Do I wish we still chat like we did before? Of course, but my job is still help the next person get the same place as Nancy. Independent, thriving, and beaming with optimism for the next part of her fitness journey.

Am I worried about Nancy? No, she has the tools to face any challenge.

Applied behavior analysis changes lives. Gives back. And continues to teach me more every single day.
